Why mats matter
A tight mat pulls on the skin every time the dog moves, and it traps moisture underneath. Bad ones have to be shaved out, not brushed out.
A few minutes a week
A quick brush through the coat, especially the spots that rub, keeps most mats from forming. Line-brush down to the skin, not just over the top.
If it is already matted
Do not cut at a mat with scissors. Bring the dog in and we will take it out safely.
